How To Import Video From Youtube To Tiktok
TikTok has been the fastest-growing social media platform in the world for over a year now, so it's a fantastic place to grow your social media footprint. But you don't have to use only the content you've produced in TikTok itself! A great way to get your TikTok account off the ground is to repost content you've made for other places like YouTube, or showcase other people's content in creative ways.
Want to share a great video you made for YouTube, or make a duet or reaction video with a YouTube viral favorite? Here's what you need to know in order to post YouTube videos on TikTok:
- Copy the YouTube link
- Upload the video to the Kapwing Studio
- Download & share on TikTok!
Step 1: Copy the YouTube link
To get started, you'll need to find the video you want on YouTube. If you're using a computer, right click on the YouTube video to copy the URL, or use the URL in the top of your browser. Once you've found the video you want to download, right-click on its URL at the top of the window and select Copy . Now you're ready to upload it to the Kapwing Studio. If you're using the YouTube mobile app, you can copy the URL of a video by clicking the "Share" icon (it looks like an arrow), then selecting Copy Link.
Step 2: Upload the v ideo to the Kapwing Studio
With your YouTube link copied, head over to Kapwing.com and click Start Editing. Or, if you're already signed in, click New Content. This will take you to the Kapwing Studio, where you can use all of Kapwing's video editing tools in one place. Now, just right-click on the URL field and choose Paste . Your video will immediately begin uploading to the Studio.
Once your video is fully uploaded to the Studio, you can cut the part (or several parts) that you want to post on TikTok. To trim your video, drag the handles in the timeline until your video is exactly the length you wanted. And before you process your video, you should make sure it's in a 9:16 aspect ratio, so it fits in TikTok.
Once your video has been uploaded to the Studio, just click the red Export Video button in the top right corner. Kapwing will work quickly and you can download your video when it's done processing.
If you're not signed into a Kapwing account, sign in or sign up using your Google or Facebook account – once you've signed into a Kapwing account, the watermark in the lower right corner will be removed from your final video.
To share the YouTube video to TikTok, open your TikTok app and tap the "+" button in the middle of the bottom menu bar. Here, choose "Upload" to the right of the video recorder button. The video you downloaded from Kapwing should be the most recent option in your camera roll. Here, you can trim it, add music, and add your tags and description.
From a Computer (Mac or PC)
It's also simple to post a YouTube video to TikTok from a computer. Simply copy the YouTube URL and paste it into Kapwing to import that video.
Then, apply your video edits. Resize the canvas to 9:16 so that the video is the right size for a TikTok post. Then, click "Export Video" to get a saveable MP4.
